Jimmy - One Good Leg

Jimmy—all eight pounds of him—was brought into Alameda East Veterinary Hospital for emergency care after he was hit by a car.

The unfortunate reality facing veterinary hospitals is that sometimes owners abandon their pets after a severe accident, even when financial help is available. Such was the case for Jimmy. He needed an advocate, so Colorado's Helping Hands Foundation stepped in.

A broken toe, a broken ulna and a broken femur left little Jimmy with just one leg to stand on, but plenty of tail wags to give.

In addition to surgery to fix the femur, Jimmy needed a home. We were thrilled when a rescue organization offered to foster the little guy after his surgery. Jimmy is healing up well and thanks his supporters at Helping Hands!!
