Duchess - Big dog, big accident

It doesn't matter if you're a great big Mastiff...big bones break too. Just ask Duchess. This beautiful, gentle giantess was found on the side of the road with a severely broken leg requiring surgery...or amputation.

The local breed rescue group raised some funds and Colorado's Helping Hands Foundation helped out with the rest so that Duchess could regain her life as nanny to her beloved"kids", pictured here.

The availability of funds from Colorado's Helping Hands Foundation kept Duchess from being euthanized at a shelter, which is often the fate of unclaimed, injured animals. A special thanks to our donors for keeping Duchess alive and on all four feet!
