Wolverine - Diabetes Treatment

Wolverine was not having a good week. His diabetes was getting the best of him, and his human companion, Adam. Not only was he in a state of ketoacidosis from his diabetes, he was starting to develop hepatic lipidosis (fatty liver disease) from not eating. Adam had noticed that Wolverine was becoming weaker, due in part from Wolverine's low serum potassium... yet another complication of his metabolic disease. Wolverine was not living up to his super hero namesake! He needed to be hospitalized for intensive therapy.

That's where Colorado's Helping Hands Foundation entered the picture. Adam and Wolverine received a little help from Helping Hands to get Wolverine back on his paws. Although Wolverine might not be quite ready to fight crime, he is at home again getting a handle on his diabetes!

Thanks Helping Hands!
